WhatsApp Pay a reality in 2020?

As per a report by Karan Chaudhary & Neha Alawadhi, Business Standard, WhatsApp Pay could be a reality by 2020 in India.

Dilip Abse, Chief Executive, NPCI said, “There are still a couple of intermediaries where work is in progress. One is Google, second is WhatsApp. We believe WhatsApp will be fully compliant in the next two months,”.

This compliancy move comes against the background of the alleged WhatsApp hack by NSO* group of 1440 individuals. The list also included prominent Indian politicians, human right activists and lawyers facing prosecution. Report on WhatsApp hack.
